The Night Bazaar is a large shopping district east of the old city, with stalls, covered markets and food courts. It shows how a market can grow into a whole neighbourhood of evening trade.
How to get there
The bazaar is centred on Chang Klan Road, a short ride from the old city by songthaew or tuk-tuk, or a pleasant walk in cooler weather.
Best time to visit
The cool season is the most comfortable time. The bazaar usually becomes busy after dark.
Good to know
Many goods are mass produced, so shop with that in mind. Friendly bargaining is common. Chiang Mai also has weekend walking street markets if you want a contrast.
